Deleting your account

Last updated: 12 September 2026

This page explains what happens when an S4 Finance account is deleted, how to do it yourself, and how to ask us to do it if you can no longer sign in. You do not need the app installed to use this page.

What is deleted

Your account itself: name, email address, password and sign-in method.

Everything you entered: expenses, subscriptions and their payment history, and budgets.

Feedback you sent from inside the app.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no waiting period and nothing can be restored afterwards, so download your data first if you want to keep a copy.

What is kept

Sign-in, error and email records that mention your account are deleted automatically within 90 days of being written; deleting the account does not shorten that window.

Records of administrative actions involving your account (for example an administrator viewing it to investigate a problem you reported) are kept as an audit trail. They record the action and the date, not the contents of your financial records.

Deleting it yourself

On the web: sign in, click your name in the top-right corner to open "My account", scroll to the bottom and choose "Delete my account". You will be asked to type your email address to confirm.

In the mobile app: tap the circle with your initial in the top-right corner, choose "My account", scroll to the bottom and choose "Delete my account".

Before confirming, both screens offer a download of all your data as a single file.

If you cannot sign in

Send a deletion request to info@s4finance.net, or through the contact form below, from the email address the account was registered with. That is how we confirm the request comes from the account holder; a request from a different address will be answered with a question, not a deletion.

We delete the account within 30 days of receiving a verifiable request and confirm by email once it is done.
